Hi, as this is my first blog and it may be the first blog you have read I thought I would include some information on blogs as I go along so that you can feel comfortable in reading and following this blog.
When researching blog sites, there are hundreds to choose from to host your blog, generally they want your followers to join up with the company before they can follow your blog. In this case it is google that wants you to create an account before you can follow.
Without the google account you can still come back, read all the posts, and post comments on the blog however you wont be able to "follow" the blog. I am interested to have as many followers as possible so don't let the requirement to register a google account hold you back from being a follower of this blog.
From the new kid on the blog, Simon.
This is a blog that takes you from the comfort of the couch to the finish line of the Gold Coast Marathon which is being run on the 3rd July 2011.

Pre blog post to all bloggers
It is boxing day 2010, the aftermath of Christmas day is slowly working its way though my internal structure and as the day warms up in our nations capital I am posting my first post on my first blog. Although blogging has been around for a number of years it is an element that has alluded me until now. I have heard about blogs, I have read about blogging, my brother has a blog, but not until looking back on 2010 and assessing what it is store for 2011 have I been compelled to sign up and put the next six months of my life under the microscope for all the world to read and post about.
Do I have delusions of grander, yes, do I hope this makes me famous, of course, is it going to provide me with something to waste my pressure time on when work is slow and I need an escape from studying over the next six months, you bet it is!
From the new kid on the blog, I welcome you to "From the Couch to the Finish Line".
